Katie B. Faz

My name is Katie Bandish Faz, a 30 year old female from all over Virginia, USA. The current and most consistent medium that I’ve explored has been Borosillicate Glass. Consider me a Glassblower/Lampworker. This experience, for me, has been both for artistic expression and as a full/part-time job since September 2014.

In the beginning, my experience had been influenced by a community of Lampworkers & Pipemakers throughout Virginia. As my interest grew, I purposely sought out to meet talented artists around the country to learn as much as I could.

My style is influenced by the complexity and flow of nature, and the growing diversity of flora around the world. I want to explore designs that fit into the art of interior design that involve small or large frames of botanical still life; I want to recreate those frames and fill them with glass botanical sculptures.

I am currently residing in the north end of Charlottesville, Virginia. You can watch me demonstrate my work at local art shows and my own studio when you sign-up for a class.
